Dear Hourglassian,
Happy Gregorian New Year! I am excited I get to share in a little of your precious holiday scrolling and reading time. Late morning here on the West Coast is quiet and sunny, and I hope you are safe and well wherever you read this.
I'm Jessica, a curious, passionate and deeply unconventional astrologer and technologist, with a sporadic history of content creation. You can read a little more about me at hourglassastrology.com and astrologyreadingsforfreedom.com.
Surfing the growth wave from this Monday's new moon, I'm reviving my Substack in 2025 (or just -viving it.) I'm inspired because we are entering a new moment in 2025 and 2026 that will feel different to what we experienced from 2019-2024. The kind of shift that will feel like the beginning of a new era, when we look back in thirty years.
Here are the kinds of things I'm planning to write about in 2025:
Sharing my adventures in growing as a professional astrologer in the corporate arena, that is,
infiltratingexpanding the enterprise mindset with astrologyTalking about the specific ways I work with astrology clients and new ways I'm imagining
Using astrology to explore and analyze developments in technology and artificial intelligence
Using astrology to navigate the world of work
Using astrology to explore and analyze pop culture (which has been deeply shaped by technology)
Using astrology to explore and analyze fashion, just because I love it
Why I think astrology is an interesting art, philosophy, and analysis tool for these matters
Previewing the design and contents of promotional boxes and event concepts I'm dreaming up
Inviting you to share ideas and feedback on some of the ways I have and plan to use astrology in my work
My goal is to write to distill and sharpen my thoughts, as well as increase my writing speed. I've turned on the setting that blocks AI (at least those applications that respect Substack's framework) from training on my work even though this will hurt my distribution, but I don't have plans to paywall my writing for now. I have big, undefined hopes and dreams, and whispering about them a little in a corner of the silent stage of the internet is what I'm here to do.
That's it! The goal has been met, the cobwebs dusted off, the ether disrupted. Welcome to 2025.
